Hello Troop 1!
We are getting excited about our Completion
Celebration and plans are under way! We have decided that a Pot Luck
would be a wonderful way to share Wood Badge fellowship. We hope to
see everyone with their spouses and families so please mark your
calendars for October 20th if you haven't already.
We will be located in the covered pavilion near the
parking lot and playground at Arbor Hills. There is room for
everyone at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, however, for planning
purposes, I will need to know how many are coming, and what you will
be bringing. Although there is convenient parking, carpooling is
suggested, especially if it is a pretty day. It might also be a good
idea to bring a few folding chairs just in case…
As a reminder (and for convenience) I have inserted
the following information from Ramsay's previous email:
Who: WB96 participants, staff and their
guests
Date: October 20, 2012
Where: Arbor Hills Park, Plano TX (click
here for more information)
Start: 5:00pm
End: 7:30pm or later! We have the place until 9:00pm
Why: To celebrate the 100% success of Wood Badge 96, for
fellowship and to provide a troop-wide setting for beadings!
Attire: Field Uniform for those being beaded, casual
otherwise.
Price: Free! Pot-luck style dinner
Note: A special award will be presented to all
participants in attendance! We will hold our beading ceremonies
up front to allow people being beaded and those taking part in
the ceremony to change into casual attire if they wish for
dinner which follows immediately afterward.
Would the Staff please RSVP to me directly (leighcat3@verizon.net) with a).
the number of people attending with you, and b). what food item you
will bring. Drinks, paper goods, and dessert will be supplied.
Bringing your own nalgene bottle or course mug would be a great
example of conservation in practice and I would like to suggest it.
I would appreciate it if the Troop Guides would
continue in their leadership role with the Patrols by reaching out
to them and finding out who all will be attending, how many they
will bring, and asking them to volunteer to bring one of the food
items listed below. TG's after you have the number of people
attending from your Patrol, please include that with your personal
RSVP to me. We will need to have the following from each Patrol:
2 Entrées (serves 10)
3 Salads or Side Dishes (serves 8-10)
1 Bread (Serves 12)
1 Surprise us!
Patrols, you could help your TG out by calling them
as well, whether you are attending or not. I would like to have
everyone's RSVP no later than October 10th. Of course, if you
become suddenly available after that, come and join the celebration.
It's not every course that reaches 100% completion,
so we have much to celebrate. We look forward to seeing EVERYONE
there on October 20th to applaud you all on your Wood Badgeriffic
accomplishments and a job well done!
Can't wait to sing Back To Gilwell with you all
soon!
